Embrace A Stranger As Your Own

I don’t normally post television adverts but there is something so incredibly special about this advert.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts have a new Ad campaign with the tagline, “There’s no greater act of hospitality than to embrace a stranger as one’s own.”

On this advert I am posting, it says, “To embrace a stranger as one’s own. It’s in our nature.”

And it got me thinking about how often do we really “embrace” a stranger as our own?

Have you embraced a stranger as your own, lately?

“Embracing” shouldn’t be taken literally in this context. Simple things like giving a hand to some in need as you walk down the road. Smiling at the person sitting across you in the public transport. Helping an old lady carry her groceries.Simple acts of caring, are all considered acts of embracing.

Henry David Thoreau once said, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see”. When you look at a stranger, do you see this person as a “stranger” or do you see a person that God created, just like you. God planned and created him/her too, just like He planned and created you. So shouldn’t we treat everyone, the way we want to be treated in return??

I hope you enjoy this Ad as much as I did. Stunningly filmed and thought provoking. It’s a work of art.

Be awesomely blessed!
